I'm a sucker for skin moisturizers. My grandmother is to blame. As a kid I remember her using everything from Olive Oil, Coconut Oil and yes even vaseline to keep me moisturized. As an adult I'm obsessed and I have experimented with a lot of body care products but prefer oils. Here are my favorite and their properties:
Sweet Almond Oil is the gentlest carrier oils. Mild, yet rich in Vitamin D and is used to soften and smooth the most sensitive skin. In other words it deeply hydrates.
Avocado Carrier Oil contains skin-nourishing Vitamins A and D and is notable for its range of unsaturated fatty and essential fatty acids (a little goes a long way).
Camellia Oil is a wonderful and fine-textured. It's easily absorbed by the skin, leaving a perfectly smooth finish.
Babassu Oil contains a high content of lauric and myristic acids, a great emollient beneficial for both dry and oily skin. It gently moisturizes the skin without contributing to an oily sheen.
Moringa Oil is rich in moisture as well as vitamins B and C, this oil is known to nourish, condition, and exfoliate the skin, thereby helping to minimize the appearance of the signs of aging, such as wrinkles, and to enhance the complexions radiance. Its emollience promotes easy spreadability on the skin.
Tamanu Oil is reputed to have wondrous skin benefiting properties composed of phospholipids and glycolipids, which are known to help protect the skins moisture barrier and are natural constituents of healthy looking skin.
Sacha Inchi contains antioxidants (Vitamins A and E), fatty acids (PUFA) and Alfa-linolenic acid (Omega 3), Linolenic acid (Omega 6), and Oleic acid (Omega 9), which helps to protect the skin's moisture barrier.
Macadamia Oil is a fantastic replenishing oil for skin's moisture barrier. It is high in mono-unsaturated fatty acids, contains palmitoleic acid (promotes younger looking skin), as well as omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids. It has been reputed to soothe, cool and revitalize the look of the skin.
Evening Primrose Oil contains high levels of GLA essential fatty acids and is good for dry and mature skin. It also soothes inflammation reduce signs of eczema and fights the effects of aging.
